Sefer Rabbainu Bechaye – Krakow, 1592 – dozens of glosses in Ashkenazic script from the early 18th century – signature of Rabbi Isaac Berlin – original ornate wooden binding.
On the leaves of the book, dozens of glosses, most of them additions and completions of verses and Ma’amarei Chazal. It is unclear whether the glosses are the writer’s additions or updates, corrections and additions based on a manuscript he had.
Bound at the beginning of the book is a rare leaf from the book Naftulei Elokim Niftalti (Krakow, 1593) with an illustration of Ilan Hasfirot.
On the front guarding leaf, signature of Pinchas Posen and Isaac berlin – Tishrei 1851.
Please refer to Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of Rabbi Isaac Berlin.
