20, [2], 21-29, [1] leaves. With an approbation by Rabbi Nosson Adler Hacohen Av Beis Din of the Ashkenazic community of London. On the flyleaf, the author’s dedication in Hebrew and on verso of the leaf, his dedication in English. In the Moda’ah Rabba at the beginning of the book, the author introduces a sermon by his son, the Dayan Rabbi Baruch Leib, which was delivered in 1852 at the Sha’ar Hashamayim synagogue of London, following the Queen’s request to pray for the success of her army [during the second Anglo-Burmese War].
Rabbi Avraham Sussman Abrahms (1801-1880) was born in Shedlitz, Poland and immigrated to London in 1837, where he worked as an expert Shochet. Author of Beit Avraham, Yosef Avraham, Zechor LeAvraham and Vaya’as Avraham. In 1879, immigrated to Jerusalem.
Renewed binding with gilt lettering. Gilt edges. Stains. Good condition.
