Letter to the editorial staff of Kol Yisrael and a copy of a letter sent by the branch of Agudas Yisroel in Safed to the chief of police in the city, with condolences for the murder of four British policemen. Safed, [1936].
"The Chareidi Jewry of Safed which is organized by Agudas Yisroel was shocked by the murder of four British policemen by Arab murderers, savages and the scum of the earth"; letter of sympathy sent by the community of Agudas Yisroel in Safed to the chief of police of the city after four British policemen died in a battle against Arab gangs during the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestineץ
[1] leaf, official stationery, with the notation "a copy of the letter that was sent today to the chief of police", signed by Rabbi Baruch Barzel, the secretary of the committee of Agudas Yisroel in Safed and with the stamp of the committee. On the lower part of the letter, a letter that was written to the editorial staff of Kol Yisrael with a description of the event during which the policemen were killed and a description of the funeral which was attended by the Jews of Safed.
Enclosed with this item is a photocopy of a news item from the Davar newspaper, from the day the letter was written, including a description of the battle and its results.
Rabbi Baruch ben Rabbi Pinchas Barzel – a Boyan Chassid who was born in Safed, one of the founders of the branch of Agudas Yisroel in Safed and its chairman.
