Sefer Shut Maharshag, section I – Varanov, 1931 – first edition – the personal copy of the Admor the holy Gaon Rabbi Nachman Kahana of Spinka Bnei Berak, with lengthy glosses hadnwritten by him – signature of Rabbi Yehoshua Lichtenstein Av Beis Din of Matsch.

Stamps on the title page and gaurd leaves: "נחמן כהנא חופה"ק אריוליא-קארילסבורג".

Notation and signature on the title page: "בעהי"ת קבלתי ספר זה במתנה מכ"ק אאמו"ר הרב דקראסנא שליט"א [=רבי ברוך בענדיט ליכטנשטיין]. יהושע [נתן ?"]. Apparently, the book was given to the Admor of Spinka by Rabbi Yehoshua, the son of the Rav of Krosno. 

On the leaves of the book, several lengthy, scholarly glosses handwritten by the Admor the holy Gaon Rabbi Nachman Kahana of Spinka Bnei Berak. 

The Admor the holy Gaon Rabbi Nachman Kahana of Spinka (1905-1977) was the grnadson of the Orchot Chaim of Spinka and the great-grandson of the Imrei Yosef of Spinka. In 1929 was appointed Rav and Admor of Karlsburg, where he established a yeshiva. Was famed for his special expertise on Hilchot Nidah. In 1946 was appointed Rav of Klausenburg and in 1950, immigrated to Israel and was appointed Rav of Bnei Re’em. In 1955, he moved to Bnei Berak. In the years before World War II, he wrote many Torah innovations, but the Nazis forced him to burn them during the war. From the writings that remained, the book Da’at Cohen, Shut and Psakim on Hilchot Nidah were printed.
