The Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yosef Greenwald (1878-1928) the son of the Gaon author of Arugat Habosem. Since 1906 served as Av Beis Din of Makó and since 1910 succeeded his father as Av Beis Din of Chust. In 1921 was appointed Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva of Ungvar. Author of Sefer Avnei Shoham – Shut and innovations (Ungvar, 1939).
Rabbi Yehoshua ben Rabbi Avraham Yosef Greenwald (1909-1969) Rav of Ungvar, Rosh Yeshiva and Av Beis Din of Chust and since 1933, Rav of the Yere’im Chust community of New York. After his father’s passing, a great controversy sparked over the question of whether to appoint Rabbi Yehoshua as his father’s successor or hold elections to choose the next Rav. Rabbi Yehoshua authored the book Chessed Yehoshua containing Shut and innovations.
Wear to the semi-leather binding. Stains, tears and taping to some leaves. Fair-good condition.
