Kol Aryeh, by the Rav of Polonne, one of the first disciples of the holy Ba’al Shem Tov. First edition. Koretz, 1798. With an approbation by the holy Rav Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev.
On the title page and an additional leaf, an ownership notation in Solitreo ‘הצעיר מאיר שלמה פרחי’ (Meir Shlomo Farchi), referring to the philanthropist who was the brother of the Minister Chaim Farchi, one of the leaders of the community of Acre and Tiberius. Passed away in the early 1840s.
This Chassidic book, one of the first Chassidic books, was published in the years when the disciples of the holy Ba’al Shem Tov were persecuted and their books archived. First edition. Extremely rare.
Rabbi Aryeh Leib of Polonne [passed away in 1740] was one of the first disciples of the Maran the Ba’al Shem Tov. His leading disciples and friends were the Maggid of Mezeritch and the holy Rav the Toldos Yaakov Yosef of Polonne. Served as maggid Meisharim. Stefansky, Sifrei Chassidut 518.
