Sefer Noam Elimelech – the Second, Rare Edition – Shklow, 1790 – the first Chassidic book that was printed in Shklow. Incomplete.
Sefer Noam Elimelech, with Likutei Shoshana and Igeret Hakodesh, a Mahadura Tanyana printed in Shklow, without noting the year of printing. With a notation on the title page copied from the first edition. An extremely rare copy. Some leaves are missing and were completed with a professional photocopy.
Tzaddikim since the first generation of the disciples of the holy Rav Rabbi Elimelech studied this holy book, some saying that it should be studied only on Friday after the Mikveh for Sabbath. Other Chassidic courts considered the study of the Noam Elimelech as an obligation like Shnayim Mikrah VeEchad Targum.
The Maggid of Kozhnitz, the holy Rav of Ropshitz, the holy Rav of Sanz and the holy Rav of Kaliv greatly praised the study of the book. It was also considered a Segulah for protection to be placed by a sick person or a woman giving birth.
Stefansky Chassidut, no. 375. This is a copy with [2] leaves at the beginning of the book before the pagination. This is a rare format of this pedigreed edition. There are other copies in which the foreword was printed on one of these pages in small fonts.
[1], 1, 3-89, 70-97; 19 leaves. The title pages and the first and second leaves as well as leaves 65, 16-17 of the second pagination are completed with a professional photocopy. The two last leaves were restored by filling-in moth perforations, affecting the text. Many aging stains, slightly affecting the text. Minor moth perforations. Wear. Erased notation on the last leaf. Fine, elegant leather binding.
