Pedigreed, important Sefer Torah written by the order of the holy Rav Rabbi Chanoch Henich of Alexander and was placed in his Beis Midrash in Alexander and the Beis Midrash of the holy Rav the Admor Hazaken of Alexander and his son the Yismach Yisroel of Alexander.
Pedigreed, important Sefer Torah written by the order of the holy Rav Rabbi Chanoch Henich of Alexander, the Rav of thousands of the Kock Chassidim and Ger and the successor of the holy Rav the Chidushei HaRim of Ger.
The Sefer Torah remained in his Beis Midrash in Alexander and was read continuously by the holy Tzaddikim of Alexander, the holy Rav Rabbi Yechiel, the Admor Hazaken, and his son the holy Rav the Yismach Yisroel of Alexander, who even repaired it and replaced some of its sheets.
This Sefer Torah was read on Sabbath and the Jewish festival.
Sefer Torah, Beis Yosef script, on vellum, 42 lines per sheet, fine, impressive script, with some sheets that were replaced with the script of the scribe of the holy Rav the Yismach Yisroel of Alexander and some additional repairs that were made over the years.
The last letters demonstrate the Jewish custom of adding letters that were written by the public, not the scribe, and it is assumed that they were written by the holy Rav Rabbi Chanoch Henich of Alexander.
The History of the Sefer Torah
All the years, the Sefer Torah resided in the Beis Midrash in Alexander, the large Beis Midrash that was built by the holy Rav Rabbi Chanoch Henich Hacohen Levin, the successor of the holy Rav the Saraf of Kock and the holy Rav the Chidushei HaRim.
The holy Rav Rabbi Yechiel of Gritza, the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Sheraga Feibel of Gritza purchased the Beis Midrash from Rabbi Yechiel Fishel of Alexander, the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Henich, who did not want to continue the dynasty and court.
The holy Rav Rabbi Yechiel, the father of the holy dynasty and great court of Alexander, was succeeded by his revered son, Rabbi Yisroel Yitzchak Danziger of Alexander, the author of Yismach Yisroel, whom thousands followed and were connected to his holy court and Beis Midrash.
The holy Rav, the Yismach Yisroel, repaired this Sefer Torah and ordered his scribe to replace one of its sheets, apparently because it was worn or damaged.
The Sefer Torah continued to reside in the holy court of Alexander and over the years was transferred to Rabbi Chanoch Henich’s great-grandson, the holy Gaon Rabbi Chanoch Zvi Hacohen of Bendin, the son-in-law of the holy Rav the Sefas Emes of Ger.
When in 1980, the coffin of the holy Rav of Bendin, Rabbi Chanoch Zvi Hacohen Levin, was brought to Israel by Rabbi Zusha Hertzstork, the Rav of Bendin’s son, Rabbi Pinieh Hacohen Levin, asked him to bring this important and pedigreed Sefer Torah with it.
Over the years, the Sefer Torah was read in the Beis Midrash before the Hillula of the holy Rav of Alexander, with the Shamash Rabbi Yisroel Shimon Deutsch recalling its sanctity and pedigree. Eventually, the Sefer became Pasul and was no longer read.

The Sefer Torah was examined carefully by a scribe who is an expert on ancient Sifrei Torah and was found to match the script of Sifrei Torah that were written in Poland 100-200 years ago, Beis Yosef script (rather than the Ari script) that was used only by the Pershishca Chassidim, and with some sheets that were replaced, including the one that was replaced and written by the scribe of the Yismach Yisroel. The Sefer is not Kosher: some of the vellum became Pasul due to aging blemishes, some sheets are blemished in their lower part and many letters have been erased. However, it can be repaired to be rendered Kosher.
The Sefer Torah is sold for Talmud Torah and charity purposes, by law.
