Three volumes of Midrash Rabba, on Chumashim Shemot, Vayikra and Bamidbar. With the handwritten signature of the holy Gaon Rabbi Yosef Zvi Dushinsky.

Midrash Rabba, published by the printery of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Shperling, Lemberg 1859.

On all the volumes, Rabbi Yosef Zvi Dushinaly wrote his name and signature. In one place ther eis his signature from his youth in Paks: ‘יוסף צבי דושינסקיא מפה ק"ק פאקש’.

Appearing on all the volumes is also the signature of his father and Rav the Gaon Rabbi Yisroel Dushinsky, with dedications: זה המדרש שייך להב’ החתן החשוב המשכיל מופלא ומופלג בתורה וביראה חרוץ ושנום זית רענן וכו’ וכו’ אין גומרין עליו את ההלל החבר ר’ ישראל דושינסקיא נ"י מנאדאש, נכתב מתלמידו הב’ יוסף עדילגער בשנת כ’י ת’דור נ’דר’ לא תאחר לשלמו [=תר"כ].

Eventually, the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Zvi purchased this book.

The holy Gaon Rabbi Yosef Zvi Dushinsky [1867-1949] the Rav of Chust and Galanta and eventually of Jerusalem, leader of HaEidah HaChareidit And Agudas Yisroel of Jerusalem. Established a yeshiva with hundreds of students in Galanta, Chust and Jerusalem, Beis Yosef Zvi.

Three volumes. The volume of Shemot and the volume of Vayikra are bound together. Blemished bindings, partly detached. The volume of Bamidbar is without a binding and the title page and leaf 1 are missing. Good condition.
