The Kinot for Tisha BeAv, Lemberg 1861 edition, which had belonged to the Tzaddikim, the holy Geonim Maran Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Shapiro the author of Darkei Teshuva of Munkatch and his son Rabbi Chaim Elazar the author of the Minchas Elazar of Munkatch. with traces of tears and candle drops. Extremely rare!

The holy Tzaddikim of Munkatch prayed from this book, crying for the destruction of the Temple and the exile of Yisroel and Knesses Yisroel.

In his book, the Minchas Elazar refers to the great destruction and exile on almost every page and it is one of the central topics of his book.

This copy has many traces of his and his father’s tears, which appear mainly on the Haftarah of ‘אסוף אסיפם’.

On the tite page, their stamps and additional stamps.

It is interesting to note that in one of the Kinot beginning with the words ‘ציון ידידות’, the Minchas Elazar of Munkatch corrected the version that appeared here ‘להשיב לארץ הצבי’, replacing it with an early version appearing in old books and manuscripts: ‘מיד חזיר הצבי’, a most interesting correction. Possibly, it derives from his desire to emphasize the old version in contrast with the reformists and Zionists against whom the Minchas Elazar passionately turned.
