Rare letter by handwritten by Rabbi Aryeh Leib, the Son of Maran the Chafetz Chaim, sent to the philanthropist who supported his father in his old age, consequently prolonging his life. Radin-Warsaw, 1931.
The letter on the official stationery of Rabbi Aryeh Leib Hacohen Popko, the son of the Chafetz Chaim was sent to the philanthropist Rabbi Avraham Mayers. In the letter, he notes that the great Rav Rabbi Yehoshua – my sister’s son-in-law [apparently referring to Rabbi Yehoshua Levinson, a mashgiach at the Radin Yeshiva] had sent $29, which then was a huge amount of money, from the sale of Maran the Chafetz Chaim’s books in the USA.
Rabbi Aryeh Leib expresses his gratitude to the philanthropist Rabbi Avraham for his efforts for Talmidei Chachamim, describing how he had supported his father the Chafetz Chaim in his old age and sending him his many blessing.
[1] official stationery of Rabbi Aryeh Leib. Handwritten entirely by him. Very good condition.
