Receipt for charity signed by the Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Leib Auerbach, the Rosh Yeshiva of Sha’ar Hashamayim. Jerusalem, 1948.
On the printed receipt, handwritten details were added by a scribe and the handwritten signature of Rabbi Chaim Leib Auerbach in pencil.
Rabbi Chaim Leib Auerbach [1887-1954] the son of the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Dov and a grandson of the family of the Toldos Yaakov Yosef of Polonne. A disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin and Rabbi Shimon Horowitz, with whom he established the Kabbalistic Sha’ar Hashamayim yeshiva. His son was the famed Posek Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach.
