Halachic correspondence on Hilchos Mezuzah between Rabbi Asher Anshil Halevi Jungreis Av Beis Din of Kozhintz, an important Munkatch Chassid, and his friend Rabbi Z’ev Goldberger – Kozhintz, Adar 1940 – has not been printed
This letter was written on Leil Purim Katan in Kozhintz to his friend Rabbi Ze’ev Goldberger [apparently, a descendant of Rabbi Ze’ev Goldberger Av Beis Din of Hunyad]. The letter deals with Hilchos Mezuzah and an innovation of Maran the Minchas Elazar. Appearing on the third and fourth pages of the letter is the response of Rabbi Ze’ev Goldberger.
The Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Asher Anshil Halevi Jungreis (perished in Iyar 1945) was the grandson of the Menuchas Moshe and the great-grandson of the Menuchas Asher. Was the disciple of the Maharshag and the Maharitz Dushinsky and was close to the holy Gaon author of Minchas Elazar of Munkatch. Served as Av Beis Din of Kozhintz. Was murdered by the Nazis in 1945. In 1974, his brother published the book Siftei Asher containing some of the Chassidic Divrei Torah of Rabbi Asher.
