Sefer Shav Shmateta – Lemberg, 1837 – Signatures and Glosses by the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Binyamin Sofer Av Beis Din of Derecske, author of Divrei Sofrim.
Two signatures on the title page by "הק’ שמואל בנימין באאמ"ו הגאון מו"ה זוסמן סופר פה ק"ק פאקש שנת תרמ"ט לפ"ק יצ"ו".
On the last leaf of the book, an additional signature: "קניתי מהוני לכבוד צורי וקוני הק’ יואל ב"ר יוסף מפה פאקש יע"א".
Inside the book, several short glosses by Rabbi Shmuel Binyamin.
The Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Binyamin Sofer Av Beis Din of Derecske (1873-1943), author of Divrei Sofrim. A leading disciple of his father the Famed Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Zuddman Sofer. Since 1903, replaced his brother Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer, who moved to Paks, as Rav of Derecske. Was known as a great Talmid Chacham, Rosh Yeshiva and Posek.
58 leaves. 22 cm. Fair condition. Dampness stains. Wear and tears to the edges of the leaves.
