Lengthy Letter handwritten entirely by Maran Rabbi Simcha Bonem Sofer author of the Shevet Sofer of Pressburg, sent to the Gaon Rabbo Moshe Feldman Av Beit Din of Galanta.

The Gaon author of the Shevet Sofer of Pressburg writes at the beginning of his letter: ‘הרבני המופלג חרוף ברק השנון, ספ"ח, כש"ת מ"ה משה פעלדמאן נ"י בק"ק גאלאנטא יע"א’.

The letter is a copying by the Sheves Sofer himself of a responsum he sent to the Av Beit Din of Galanata, answering his question about Dinei Kinyanim of tractate Gittin. The beginning of the sheet is a continuance of another responsum – we do not known to whom – by Maran the Sheves Sofer. The responsa was written in 1888.

Maran the Gaon Rabbi Simcha Bonem Sofer [1843-1906] the Sheves Sofer, the son of Maran the Kesav Sofer who followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather the Chasam Sofer.

The Gaon Rabbo Moshe Feldman Av Beit Din of Galanta and Budapest (1860-1927), the son-in-law of the Gaon Rabbi Shimon Friedman and his successor as Rav of Galanta. Later he became Rav of Budapest. Was famed for his efforts for Agunot after World War I.
