The holy Rav Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Nadvorna (ca. 1740-1802) a disciple of the holy Rav the Maggid of Mezeritch. In his childhood, he was one of those who saw Or Shivas HaYamim the Ba’al Shem Tov. When he was young, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch served as a Melamed of the children of a wealthy Jew. When that Jew married one of his children, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch travelled to Zlotchov to participate in the wedding and there he became close to the holy Rav Rabbi Yechiel Michl of Zlotchov. Later he served as Maggid Meisharim of Dolina. However, when the holy Rav Rabbi Moshe Shoham (a disciple of the Besht) came to Dolina to be its leader, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch did not want to take his place and moved to Nadvorna, where he became a renowned rav.

His disciples were, among others, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Ziditchov, Rabbi Avraham David of Buchach author of Eshel Avraham and Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kosov.

His holy Sefer Tzemach Hashem LeZvi is a basic Chassidic Sefer and the holy Rav of Sanz said of it that a Chassid should mortgage his Shtreimel to buy the Sefer.
