Rabbi Shaul Lowenstam of Amsterdam (1717-1790) – Av Beis Din of Reisha, Dunbo and eventually, of the Ashkenazic community of Amsterdam. The Chida visited him in Amsterdam and wrote about Rabbi Shaul’s Torah and modesty: "ואני הדל זכיתי לקבל פני שכינה בשנת תקל"ח מדי עברי בשליחות מצוה וזכיתי להתבסם מתורתו ומענוותנותו ושלמותו".

27 leaves. 19 cm. With the author’s stamp: "משה זילברבלט הרב אב"ד קריזבארג".

Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Aryeh Zvi Zilberblat – the Iluy of Brisk, author of Shut Moshe Mibachurav (1899-1912) and Sefer Tiferet Bachurim (1904). His first book received enthusiastic approbations, so much so that some believe its author was a jester and forger. See enclosed material. 

On the last leaves, handwritten, pencil illustrations. Semi-leather binding, worn with moth holes. Good condition.
