The Gaon Rabbi Yosef Emanuel Irgas (1685-1730), Rav and Kabbalist in Italy, a disciple of Rabbi Shmuel de Fes of Livorno and Rabbi Binyomin Hacohen Vitali. Rosh Yeshiva in Pisa, the Rav of Rabbi Malachi Hacohen the Yad Malachi. Rabbi Yosef was known as one of the greatest fighters against the Sabbateans, banishing Nechemya Chayun from Livorno and authoring polemic compositions against him. Author of "Divrei Yosef" Shut and Sefer "Shomer Emunim", which is considered a basic Kabbalah book, and additional books.
