Letter by the great Gaon Rabbi Shimon Yehuda Hacohen Shkop of Grodno, about the difficult situation of his yeshiva, with his blessings. Grodno, 1934.
Typewritten letter to the legendary supporter of the yeshiva Rabbi Reuven Tsharni with blessings for the New Year and an expression of gratitude for the large donation of $119. Rabbi Shimon pleads with Rabbi Tsharni to continue sending donations since ‘our physical situation has not yet improved and is still dire and no one knows how much longer it will continue…’
At the end of the letter, he adds his blessings:
יברכהו העליון בכל מילי דמיטב בשנה החדשה הבעל"ט בחפצו הטוב ובחפץ וברכת ידיו נצח’.
Rabbi Shimon then hand-signed the letter.
