Leaf with Responsa handwritten by the Sheves Halevi in response to questions by the Gaon Rabbi David Zvi Mertzbach, with blessings by the Sheves Halevi and his handwritten signature.
The letter begins with an apology by Rabbi David Zvi Mertzbach, the son of the Gaon Rabbi Yonah Mertzbach, for sending his written questions and not coming to ask them face-to-face, this due to his educational work at the holy yeshivas.
Apparently, the letter was sent during the Gulf War, in 1991, since it contains questions about calling firefighters on Sabbath, sirens and turning on a flashlight on Sabbath by Shinuy. Possibly, it is earlier, referring to earlier wars.
Maran Rabbi Wosnet ends his letter with blessings: ‘הריני דורש שלום תורתו באהבה רבה מצפה לישועה, ברכת שלום וכל טוב (?) and his handwritten signature.
[1] notebook leaf. Questions by Rabbi Mertzbach and responses by Rabbi Wosner. Fold lines. Minor aging stains. Good-very good condition.
