Letter by the brothers the Admorim Rabbi Elazar Shapiro of Lantzhot and Rabbi Zvi Elimelech Shapiro of Lanzhot, about building a memorial for their father the holy Rav Rabbi Simcha of Lanzhot. Lanzhot, 1913.
On the postcard, several lines handwritten by Rabbi Elazar of Lanzhot and with his signature and that of his brother Rabbi Zvi Elimelech, to the rabbinic Naggid Rabbi Leibush Kraus who donated a large sum for building a memorial for their father Rabbi Simcha Shapiro of Lanzhot, the son of the holy Rav the Yodei Binah Rabbi Elazar of Lanzhot and brother of Rabbi Shlomo of Munkatch.
The letter was written approx. eleven months after their father’s passing in early 1913 and was sent in the summer of that year (Parashat Pinchas).
The Tzaddikim end their letter: ‘רב תודה ותשואות חן על טרחתו ברך ד’ חילו ופועל ידיו תרצה’.
The holy Rav Rabbi Simcha of Lanzhot [passed away in 1913] succeeded his father Rabbi Elazar the author of Yidei Binah of Lanzhot. For almost fifty years continued in Lanzhot the dynasty of his holy grandfather the Bnei Yissachar of Dinov.
His succeeding sons:
Rabbi Elazar Shapiro of Lanzhot [1865-1938] who was appointed Rav of Ozhiran in 1903 and several years later, became an Admor there.
Rabbi Zvi Elimelech Shapiro [perished in the Holocaust].
