Manuscript – Kitvei Kodesh from the Torah of the Saba Kadisha of Ruzhin – copied in Safed to be given as a gift to one of the Admorim of Ruzhin – Safed, 1865 – fine, ornate Rashi script
Written on the title page: "כתבי קודש מאדונינו מורינו ורבינו הרב הצדיק הקדוש והטהור, סבא קדישא, המפורסים בכל קצווי ארץ, בוצינא דנהורא, אספקלריא המאירה וכו’, כבוד קדושת שמו תפארתו, מהור"ר ישראל מרוזין נבג"מ זצוקללה"ה – מנחה הוא שלוחה לאדומו"ר הקדוש שליט"א [gift sent to the holy Admor Shlita – possibly referring to Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Shtefinsht] מאתי אליעזר ליפא בן חי’ – ונעתק לכבוד אדומו"ר הקדוש שליט"א ע"י צבי הירש בן פרידא – פה עיה"ק צפת, שנת תרכ"ה לפ"ק". [copied for the holy Admor Shlita by Zvi Hirsch ben Frida – here in Safed, 1865].
These Torot were printed for the first time in Sefer Pe’er Liyesharim (Jerusalem, 1921).
In 1865, the year the Torot were copied here, nothing was printed from the Torah of the Saba Kadisha of Ruzhin (His Torort were published only in 1885 and onward in the series of books titled Irin Kaddishin).
Since the early 19th century, many Ruzhin Chassidim lived in Safed, including some Shtefansht Chassidim, who apparently had ther eown Kloiz already during the days of the holy Rav Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Shtefansgth.
The title "אדומו"ר הקדוש שליט"א" was commonly used by the Ruzhin Chassidim, and especially the Shtefansht Chassidim.
