‘כי אש היא עד עולם תוקד והי’ אוהבי שלום ורודפי שלום והזהרו שלא תכוו בגחלת בזיון התורה’ Two pages handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Kluger on Hilchos Shechita and polemic regarding a letter on the Shochatim, with practical Halachos by the holy Rav of Stretin. With ending lines handwritten by him.
Rabbi Shlomo Kluger writes at length on Shechita matters and an entire paragraph on a kind of Pashkevil about one of the rabbis and banning documents on the eve of Rosh Hashana.
He introduces the words of the holy Rav of Stretin ‘והשוחטין מחוייבים לשחוט וליתן להרב שכרם כמקדם בלי טענה ומענה ופתחון פה ומה גם שכבר גזר כן הרב הצדיק מסטרעטין ןחייבין אתם לשמוע בקולו ובפרט דהדין כן’ referring to Rabbi Avraham of Stretin, as he writes earlier: ‘ומה גם שכבר הותר החרם הזה אצל הרב הצדיק מו"ה אברהם מסטרעטין וגם בק"ק פאמרן בטלו החרם לכך אין בחרם הזה ממש.
Rabbi Shlomo Kluger ends his letter with a blessing: ‘ולהשומעים יונעם ותבא עליהם ברכת טוב כנפש המעתיר’ ולא חותם את שמו.
To the best of our knowledge, this important leaf has not been printed yet was copied several times.
The great Gaon, the Maggid of Brody, Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Kluger (1785-1869) one of the greatest Poskim and Darshanim of his generation. Authored thousands of responses and approx. a hundred and fifty Seforim on all subjects of the Torah. Served as Av Beis Din of Kolikov, Josefov, Maggid Meisharim in Brody and Rav in Brezan.
