Letter handwritten by the holy Rav Rabbi Mordechai the son of Rabbi Yochanan of Rachmistrivka who immigrated to Jerusalem. The letter was enclosed with an engraving of the two Tablets of the Law, made by him and with his Kavanot.
The wooden Tablets were handmade by Rabbi Motaleh, who was famed for his talented hands as well as his sanctity and genius.
The Tablets themselves are kept at the home of his grandson the Rav of Skvira Shlita. Yet this letter, which was enclosed with them, remained with their receiver and his family, Rabbi Shmuel Ribak. Rabbi Motaleh writes on the letter ‘גם היא מעשה ידי’ referring to the impressive artistic wooden Tablets he had engraved.
The letter contains rhymed lines, an acrostic of his name, Mordechai.
On the margins of the letter, the Rav wrote: ‘ויזכה לחזות בנועם ד’ לקיים עשרת הדברים לכל פרטיהם ויקום בו אורך ימים בימינה בשמאלה עושר וכבוד.
[1] official stationery, rhymes and blessings handwritten by him. Tears to the edges, not affecting the text. Fold lines with some fading. Good-very good condition.
