Historical letter by the important and famed Melamdim of the Etz Chaim Talmud Torah of Jerusalem, from 1913, after the passing of Rabbi Shmuel Salant, in which they complain about the erosion in their wages.

מה יעשה במה יזכה נער את ארחו בראותו את מלמדיו נאנקים’.

מה לכם לבלות זמן על בניית בניינים לת"ת, בשעה שאין אתם דואגים לשכר המלמדים.

The letter is signed by the famed melamdim: Rabbi Yeshaya Cheshin, Rabbi Yehoshua Elinson, Rabbi Pinchas Zilberman, Rabbi Chaim Mann, Rabbi Aryeh Leib Ruchamkin (the in-law of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach), Rabbi Daniel of Horodna, Rabbi Aharon Shifman, Rabbi Yechiel Michl Zlotnik, Rabbi Yitzchak of Ponovezh and more.

[1] lined leaf written on both sides. The writer is apparently Rabbi Yeshaya Cheshin. Good condition.
