Letter of blessings sent by Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Margolis the Rav of Rechovot and previously of Vishniova to Rabbi Zeev Shachor. 1924.
Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Margolis [1844-1938] the son of the Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Perlman who was close to Rabbi Yisroel Salanter, the Gaon Rabbi Meir Atlas and the Afikei Yam. In 1870, he visited Jerusalem and the Imrei Binah was greatly impressed by him. After returning to Lithuania, he was appointed Rav of Vishniova, a position he held for approx. thirty years, until his immigration to Eretz Yisroel in 1908.
After a certain period in Jaffa and Jerusalem, he settled in Rechovot, where he was appointed Rav. He signed broadsides, Piskei Din and decision, the most prominent of these, his call against football matches on Sabbath.
