Letter by the Gaon Author of Chevel Yaakov Rabbi Abba Yaakov Hacohen Borochov with a request for a certificate for one of the rabbis of Lithuania. 1933.
The letter was sent to Mr. Heschel Farbstein, one of the leaders of the worldwide Mizrachi and of the Jewish Agency, for Rabbi Yehuda Novogrodsky of Volkovisk, where the Gaon the Chevel Yaakov previously served as Av Beit Din.
The Chevel Yaakov Rabbi Abba Yaakov Hacohen Borochov, one of the Sages of Lithuania, Rav and Av beis Din of Volkovisk. Immigrated to the Holy land, where he studied and taught Torah.
