Interesting letter on Rabbinic Matters by the Gaon Rabbi Reuven Katz, the Rav of Petach Tikvah, to the Gaon Rabbi Velve Mintzberg of Jerusalem about the appointment of a Moreh Tzeddek after the passing of Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Sapir. Petach Tikvah, 1934.
In the letter, Rabbi Reuven explains that he has been delaying the appointment of a new Moreh Tzeddek for several reasons, the major one being that thirty days have not yet passed and he does not want to hurt the widow’s feelings by evacuating her from the apartment rented by the Rabbinate.
Please refer to Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Gaon Rabbi Reuven Katz, Rabbi Yisroel Zeev Mintzberg and Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Sapir.
