Hilchot Bechorot and Chalah by Rabbi Moshe ben Nachman, with an elucidation by the Gaon Rabbi Yom Tov Algazi of Jerusalem. The press of Chanina Lipa and Yehoshua Heschel Shapiro, Zhytomyr, 1860. 

[2], 88 leaves. 36 cm. This book was printed also as an appendix of the Talmud and the Rif, Zhytomyr, 1858-1864. In practice, only Hilchot Bechorot were published as part of this edition. Owner’s signature of Gerschon Goitin of Bratislava. 

Rabbi Gerschon Goitin – the son of Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Av Beis Din of Hedies and grandson of the Tzaddik Rabbi Eliyahu Menachem Av Beis Din of Hedies and author of Sefer Kesef Nivchar. Served as Maggid Meisharim of Pressburg. Was a disciple of Rabbi Akiva Sofer at the Pressburg Yeshiva and editor of the yeshiva’s journal, Hamayan. Remnants of his innovations were published in the book Zikaron Avot, Rabbi Baruch Goitin Vetoldotav. Perished in Auschwitz in 1944 with his wife Mrs. Rachel and many of their family members. 

Semi-leather binding, worn. Folds to corners. Wear to the edges of the last leaf. Good condition.
