Sefer Yereim by Rabbi Eliezer of Metz, one of Baalei Hatosafot. George de Kabali Press, Venice, [1566]. First edition. Rare.
Originally, 146 leaves. In this copy, the title page and leaf 4 were missing and completed by hand in fine penmanship with illustrations of flowers on the title page. On the flyleaf, an illustration of birds and a star-of-David was drawn. This edition, as well as following editions until the late 19th century, the book was edited and divided into twelve chapters whereas, originally, it was divided only into seven.
Wear to binding. Moth holes. Stains. The title page and an additional leaf that were completed by hand are detached. One of the leaves i sdetached and with blemishes to its edges. Some leaves are partly detached. Fair condition.
