Special letter handwritten by the holy Rav the Ma’agalei Tzedek Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Deyzh, to his brother’s son the holy Rav Rabbi Yechezkel, about the division of charity money. Deyzh, 1878.
The letter begins with שפעת חיים ושלום וכ’’ט לכבוד אהובי בן אחי ה’’ה הרבני המופלג החרוץ מהו’ יחזקאל ני’ עכב’ב שיחיו’.
The Ma’agalei Tzedek describes the steps he had taken to organize certain charity matters, his calculations and the documentation by advocates.
He sent the calculations to his nephew alongside some of the funds.
The Rebbe ends his letter with the words: ’ויהי רצון שנכה להרבות מצוות ומעשים טובים ברב הרחבה’
And signs: ’הלא כה דברי דודכם הדורש שלום תורתכם הק’ מנחם מענדל פאנעט’
The holy Gaon Rabbi Menachem Mendel Panet author of Ma’agalei Tzedek of Deyzh (1818-1884) the son of he holy Gaon author of Mareh Yechezkel of Deyzh. A leading disciple of Maran the Chasam Sofer and a Chassid of the holy Gaon author of Yismach Moshe of Oihel. Authored the Ma’agalei Tzeddek Shut on the Shulchan Aruch. Succeeded his father as the Admor of Deyzh. Used to travel to the holy Gaon the Divrei Chaim of Sanz and the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura.
