’ולשמוע בשורות טובות וישועות מכל בני ביתו בתוך כלל ישראל’ Letter of regards handwritten by the holy Rav Rabbi Meir’l of Amshinov to his friend and follower the Gaon Rabbi David Halachmi – Weisbrod. The year is not noted.
In the letter, the Rebbe confirms that he received the letters of Rabbi Weisbrod, a disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Meir Shapiro, an important Amshinov Chassid and Rav of the Chisda synagogue in Bnei Berak.
The Rebbe notes that his health has improved, yet he is still praying for full recovery and hearing good news from his entire family and household.
The letter then deals with a public matter, the Rebbe asking Rabbi Weisbrod to do something about it and talk to Rabbi Avraham Moshe Baum, who was an elderly and important Amshinov Chassid.
The Rebbe also refers to his daughter, the pious Rebbetzin Mrs. Milkovsky, the mother of the tzaddik Rebbe of Amshinov Shlita.
The letter, which was handwritten entirely by him, ends with lines of blessings: ידידך דורש שלום טובתך עם ברכת חג שמח המחכה לישועת השם יתברך בתוך כל כלל ישראל and the initials of the Rebbe’s name:יימ’’ק.
An additional important and touching line was added by the Rebbe after his signature: דורש שלום כל ידידנו היקרים שיחיו עם ברכת חג שמח וכל טוב.
The holy Rav Rabbi Meir of Amshinov [1905-1976] a wonder-worker who led his holy court with love and compassion. Had friendly relations with the Tzaddikim of his generation and brought each and every Jew closer. His prayers were famed for their length.
