Four lines handwritten and signed by the Admor the holy Rav the author of the Beit Avraham of Slonim, from his first visit to the Holy Land – an addition handwritten by him on a letter to the managers of the Kollelim of the Holy Land asking to prevent financial support from a family sending her daughters to non-religious schools – Safed, Nissan, 1929 – has not been printed – rare letter

"מכתב חוזר אל נשיאי ואמרכלי אה"ק תובב"א" – the managers of the Kollelim, written in Safed on the 5th of Nissan 1929. This copy was sent to one of the managers of the Kollelim.

This letter was written after a meeting of the leaders of the Chareidi community of Safed on the 4th of Nissan. The letter was typewritten and signed by the leaders of the community a day later. In the letter, they explain that since it has become common to send girls to non-religious institutions, they ask the managers of the Kollelim to prevent the support given to these families until they take their daughters out of the non-religious institutions.

After the signatures of the leaders of the community, the Beis Avraham added several handwritten lines calling to support the Chareidi institutions o fSafed materially and spiritually: "ב"ה גם אני נמצאתי על האסיפה ועיני ראו את הלחץ והעמל מאנשי צפת"ו בענין חינוך הבנים והבנות, ובהכרח לעמוד לעזרתם ברוחני כאמור לעיל, ולפ"ד גם בגשמי, היושר שכל אמרכל ונשיא ישים לב לעזור ולתמוך את המוסד שיסדו בענין החינוך כי זה כל פרי עמלם שיהיו פרי הארץ לגאון ולתפארת, בנים לאבותם כרצון ה’ ויראיו ורבותה"ק, והמה סניף וחבר לעושי מצוה אי"ה, כ"ד המדבר בצדקה פה צפת"ו עיה"ק – אברהם בהרה"ק זצללה"ה מסלאנימא זי"ע ועכי"א, ה’ ניסן פ"ט".

The Beis Avraham visited the Holy Land twice in his lifetime: in 1929 and 1933. Each visit lasted several months. This letter was written on his first visit, in Safed, where he stayed for several days. His visit and holy work are described in the book Mizkenim Etbonan by Rabbi Yisroel Shimon Kestelnitz. This letter, however, taught us for the first time about his attending the meeting of the leaders of the community.

Letters by the Beis Avraham from the time he visited Eretz Yisroel are extremely rare!

The Admor the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Weinberg of Slonim (the second) author of the Beit Avraham (1884-1933), the son of the Divrei Shmuel of Slonim. became the Rebbe of the Slonim Chassidim in 1916. After World War I, began rebuilding the Chassidut. Until 1929, lived in Bialystok and the moved to Baranovich. He was famed for his Avodas Hashem, prayers and Shmuesin, which left a deep impression on all those who heard him. "כל מאמר שהיה יוצא מפי קדשו בקדושה וטהרה היה כהסתערות על האויב הפנימי, שאם אבן הוא נמוח. היה מזעזע כל פנימיות נפש רוח ונשמה עד כליות ולב, היה מחולל מהפכה נפשית ומאיר עיני הולכי חשכים ואין נוגה להם, באור חיי קדושה, באור שבת קודש, באור תורה ואמונה" (from the foreword of his leading disciple the Netivos Sholom to the book Beit Avraham). He was also famed for his sanctity and purity: בענייני חיי קדושה ופרישות, היה כחד מן קמאי, ומסופר עליו גדולות בענינים אלו למעלה ממושג אנושי" (ibid.) His Sichot were published in his famed book Beit Avraham by his leading disciple the Netivos Sholom of Slonim.
