Last will and testament signed by the holy Rav Rabbi Mordechai Chaim Slonim (Reb Motel) – Safed, Tamuz 1908.

The last will and testament of Mrs. Chaya daughter of Reb Chaim, the widow of Rabbi Yechezkel Slonim, signed by the two witnesses: מרדכי חיים בהרי"ל [=בן הרב יהודה ליב] נ"י קאסטעלאניץ" – Reb Motel Slonimer and ר’ "שלמה בהר"מ [=בן הרב מרדכי] לידער".

The holy Rav Rabbi Mordechai Chaim Slonim [1868-1954] was the son of the famed Rav Rabbi Yehuda Leib Kastelnitz 9the scribe and confidante of the Yessod HaAvodah). Was a leading disciple of the Divrei Shmuel of Slonim. When he was eight, immigrated with his father to the Holy Land, living in Safed, Tiberius and eventually, Jerusalem. In Tiberous, he served as Dayan of the Beis Din of his brother-in-law and disciple Rabbi Moshe Kliers, Av Beis Din of Tiberius. The Slonim Chassidim of Tinerius wanted to appoint him as the leader of their community and Admor, yet he adamantly refused to acknowledge the appointment.
