On leaf 153b, the writer introduces a Kushiya he had heard from his Rav the Chasam Sofer: "ומאדמ"ו הגאון מהרמ"ס שמעתי להקשות". In addition, in several places, he introduces innovation by the Gaon Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margolis (see for example, leaves 21a, 53b).
The Gaon Rabbi Binyomin Ze’ev Fuchs Av Beis Din of Sered (1814-1874) was a leading disciple of the Chasam Sofer and the Maharam Esh Av Beis Din of Ungvar. In his writings, Rabbi Binyomin Ze’ev Fuchs states that for three years he merited seeing and hearing Torah from the Chasam Sofer. Since 1848 until his passing served as Av Beis Din of Sered.
