Manuscript, a complete work on the entire Masechet Chulin handwritten by the holy Gaon Rabbi Avraham Schag-Tzwebner Av Beis Din of Koversdorf, author of Ohel Avraham and Drashot HaRosh – Stalsdorf-Koversdorf, 1843-1853

122 large pages handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Schag, containing innovations on the entire Masechet Chulin.

Written on the title page of the work: "חידושי תורה אשר חנן ד’ את עבדו, …התחלתי לכתוב בחורף שנת תר"ג לפ"ק אחרי הגעתי לימי בינה (Torah innovations… which I started writing in winter 1843 after reaching the age of Binah [the writer turned forty in Iyar 1841…).

Bound at the beginning of the book are three leaves containing a Kuntres Acharon, which the writer states he started in summer [?] 1853. After them are the innovations from the beginning of the Masechet. At their beginning, he wrote that he started studying the first chapter of Chulin in winter 1843.

On leaf 4a, he wrote that in one of his innovations, he merited concurring with his father the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Leib (whom the author did not know since he passed away when the author was 3 years old): "ואחר שחדשתי זה מדעתי מצאתי אח"כ בכתיבת ידו של א"א מורי הרב המופלג החריף צדיק נשגב זצ"ל שכתב ג"כ כזה בימי חרפו ובחרותו… ושמחתי כעל כל הון, ויהי’ שפתותי’ דובבות בקבר ומנוחתו כבוד".

Written in the headings of most leaves: "שיל"ת" [=שויתי הויה לנגדי תמיד].

The Gaon author’s innovations were published in several books, including his innovations on Masechet Chulin.
