Invitation to the wedding of the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Alter Yechiel Zvi Unger, one of the sacred rabbis of Safed who was murdered with his three children by Arabs in 1936. Safed, 1926.
The Unger House in Safed and the horrific murder of the Unger family by Arabs are well-known in the rich history of Safed.
In 1936, with the outbreak of The Great Palestinian Revolt, murderous Arabs broke into the Jewish Quarter of Safed. One of the first people they murdered were Rabbi Alter Unger, the bridegroom of this invitation, and three of his children.
The Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Alter Yechiel Zvi Unger, the son of Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak and grandson of Rabbi Mordechai David of Dombrova. Was a nephew of the holy Rav the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Was a scribe, Talmid Chacham and a charitable person.
Married the Rebbetzin Mrs. Chaya Rivka Lifshotz, who was the granddaughter of the holy Rab Rabbi Sholom of Belz and the holy Rav Rabbi Yehoshua of Tomashov.
