[1], 64; 19 [i.e. 18] leaves. 34 cm. On the title page, a dedication to the Yissa Beracha and the signature of Rabbi Ovadya Hadaya and stamps of the Beit El Yeshiva of Kabbalists and of the Shalom Avdo Yeshiva. With several corrections and comments, some of which were apparently handwritten by Rabbi Hadaya.
The holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Elyashar, known as the Yissa Beracha, the Rishon LeZion and the Rav of Jerusalem. Was born in 1817. For many years served as Dayan in Jerusalem. In 1869, was appointed Av Beis Din of Jerusalem. In 1880, was asked to serve as the Rishon LeZion, yet gave up the position in favor of his in-law, Rabbi Raphael Meir Panigel. After Rabbi Panigel’s passing, Rabbi Elyashar was appointed the Rishon LeZion in a ceremony that took place at the Raban Yochanan synagogue of Jerusalem in 1893. He held this important position for 13 years, until his passing. Authored many Seforim whose titles contained the initials of his name, Ish: Ish Emunim, Simchah LaIsh, Ma’asseh Ish, Derech Ish, Divrei Ish, Olas Ish, Sha’al Ish, Kavod LaIsh and Pnei Ish. Passed away in 1906.
The Gaon Kabbalist Rabbi Ovadya ben Rabbi Sholom Hadaya (1889-1969) the Rosh Yeshiva of the Beit El Yeshiva of Kabbalists in Jerusalem. One of the leading Kabbalists and Poskim of the Haleb-Syria community and one of the most important Dayanim of Eretz Yisroel. Was the Chief Rabbi of Petach Tikvah. Author of Yaskil Avdi.
Renewed semi-leather binding. Blemish, a cut along the leaf and taping to the title page. Small tears and wear to the edges of some leaves. Fair-good condition.
