The postcard contains his handwritten requests for donations for the yeshiva.

The Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Yisroel Chaim Kaplan [1895-1970] was a member of one of the important families of the Lithuanian Torah world between the two world wars. His brother was the famed Gaon Rabbi Elazar Zeev Kaplan, the mashgiach of the Radin Yeshiva under the leadership of the Chofetz Chaim. He himself was a disciple of the Chofetz Chaim and of the Mashgiach Rabbi Yerucham of Mir, eventually, becoming his son-in-law. After the passing of the Imrei Emes of Brisk, Rabbi Yisroel Chaim was appointed the Rosh Yeshiva of Brisk. After the Holocaust, he was the Mashgiach of the Beis Midrash Elyon Yeshiva of Monset.
