Nehar Shalom, on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim, authored by Rabbi Shabtai Ventura Av Beis Din of Aspaltero, a disciple of the author of the Chasdei David, Rabbi David Pardo. First edition. Amsterdam, 1775.

Sefer Nehar Shalom became famed in recent generations after Maran the Chofetz Chaim, Rabbi Yisroel Meir Hacohen of Radin, cited it frequently in the Mishnah Berurah. 


On the title page and leaf of approbations, the round stamp of Rabbi Chaim berlin:  ‘ חיים ברלין בהגאון אדמו"ר הנצי"ב זצ"ל מלפנים רב במאסקווא ואב"ד ור"מ בוואלאזין וכעת בירושלים עיה"ק ת"ו’. 


The renowned Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin (1832-1912) the eldest son of the Natziv of Volozhin and the great-grandson of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin. The Rav of Volozhin, Moscow and Jerusalem and the Rosh Yeshiva of the Volozhin Yeshiva for a while and one of the greatest Rabbis of his generation. He also served in Kobryn and Yelisavetgrad in Ukraine for a decade.


[6], 202 leaves. Wear, stains and water damage. Damage to the headings of some leaves at the end of the volume, not affecting the text. Some leaves are reinforced with transparent tape. Late, complete binding. Fair-good condition.
