Shtar Chalitzah – Kislev, 1796 – Kronheim (Southern Germany) – Signature of the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Segal Av Beis Din of Kronheim
In this document, Rabbi Shmuel ben Rabbi David promises his sister-in-law, Rechale, the wife of his brother Rabbi Zeligman Leib, that if, G-d forbid, she becomes a widow and need a Chalitzah from him, he is "obliged to set her free with a Kosher Chalitza and shall never charge her of her family anything".
The signatory witnesses are Yehuda leib Segal of Gunzhoisen and Yisef Aryeg of Helmar. After their signatures, the confirming signature of the Av Beis Din "Mordechai Segal, Dayan of Gunzhoisen and the vicinity and Av Beis Din here in Kronheim".
Written on verso of the document: "שטר חליצה מהיקר ר’ שמואל ב"ר דוד קרונהיים לאשת אחיו מרת רעכלא בת ר’ אברהם, ומבואר הכל בפנים באר היטב".
