Mishnayot Seder Nashim, Furth 1814 – dozens of scholarly glosses from the late 18th century – copy of Shlomo Friedlander, the famed forger of the Yerushalmi Kodashim who used varied pseudonyms, in this copy using the name "Yehuda Aryeh Friedland"
On the front guard leaf, his signature: "שייך לבית תפילת ישורון דק"ק מגנצא – הק’ יהודא אריה פרידלאנד".
The famed forger Shlomo Yehuda Friedlander (passed away in 1924) dedicated his life to forgeries that shook the Jewish world. The historical forgery that made him special were two volumes of the Yerushalmi of Seder Kodashim which he published during the years 1907-1909. Over the years, he adopted varied identities, some Ashkenazic and some Sephardic. One of his aliases, appearing in this book, was Yehuds Aryeh Friedland. In 1885, he authored a commentary on the Yerushalmi Yevamot titled Beit Yehuda and another work titled Hagan, on the title pages of both works it was written that they were authored by Yehuda Aryeh Friedland.
