Letter handwritten entirely by Maran the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski of Vilna, president of Vaad Hayeshivos of Poland and Lithuania, dealing with support of the yeshivas. Not dated.
The letter begins with the words: ‘אם אמנם אין עלי כל אחריות בזה, בכל מקום, זה, במעות של צדקה הווי נכון לתת משלי לכולל הורדנא’. He continues to describe the difficult financial situation of Poland, estimating the exchange rate for the donation he is brining.
The Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer ends the letter with warm blessings and his fill signature.
It is interesting to note that at the top of the leaf there is a line handwritten by Rabbi Chaim Ozer in weak ink: ‘אם נוכל להציל’.
