Letter of blessings for Passover sent by the Gaon Rabbi Aharon Kotler, the Rosh Yeshiva of Etz Chaim in Kleck-Slutzk, with his signature and stamp.
The letter was sent to the philanthropist Rav L. Yung, Rav of the Jewish Center Synagogue of New York.
In his letter, Rabbi Kotler notes the generous donation Rabbi Yung sent to the Yeshiva, wishing him that he joyfully celebrate Passover with his dear family: ‘שיחוג את חג הפסח ביחד עם בני ביתו היקירים ברוב שמחה וביתרון הכשר וכן יגיעם ד’ למועדים ולרגלים אחרים לחיים ולשלום ונזכה לראות במהרה בגאולתנו ובפדות נפשנו. ‘
In a rare manner, the Gaon Rabbi Kotler adds the word ‘באהבה’ before his signature. His stamp, Aharon Kotler Rosh Yeshiva’ and the stamp of the Etz Chaim Yeshiva, which moved from Slutzk to Kleck, also appear on the letter.
The great Gaon Rabbi Aharon Kotler (1892-1962) one of the greatest Gedolei Yisroel in the recent generation, one of the re-establishers of the yeshiva world in America and one of the founders of the pure education in Eretz Yisroel and one of the leaders of the worldwide Agudas Yisroel. From a young age was renowned as an Iluy and diligent student. In his youth, he studied Torah with the Gaon Rabbi Zalman Sender Kahana Shapiro and his rabbis in Slabodka. Married the daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer. Was Rosh Yeshiva of Slutzk and Kleck.
