Handwritten volume, lengthy work on the Torah (approx. 700 pp.) handwritten by the author the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yehoshua Fruman of Lodz before the Holocaust (grandson of Rabbi Fischel of Strikov) – many of Torah innovations the author heard from his leading Rav, Maran the Imrei Emes of Ger and the Geonim of Poland – Lodz, 1908-1933 – not published.
This work was written by one of the sharpest Geonim of Poland before the war, one of the most brilliant minds of the Ger Chassidim of Lodz – the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yehoshua Fruman. This Gaon wrote down many of his Torah innovations, yet most of them were lost in the Holocaust. Remnants of his writings were published by his son Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Leib Fruman in a book titled Nachalat Yaakov Yehoshua on the Torah (Jerusalem, 1959). However, this work was never published. The dates appearing in the work indicate it was written during the years 1908-1933 (whereas the work that was published was written in later years).
The work includes deep elucidations, sharp Pilpulim and fine Parpera’ot. Most of them Nigleh and some Chassidut and Driush. The work also contains hundreds of citations from unknown books and is rich with Shmu’ot he heard from the Geonim and Tzaddikim of Poland. This work is similar in its style to the works of the Geonim of Poland such as the Kli Chemdah and Pardes Yosef.
Please refer to Hebrew catalog text for examples of innovations appearing in the work and for a brief biography of the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yehoshua Fruman.
