Mlachut Shebamalchut! Lengthy letter of condolence, words of support and faith, blessings for Naches from all offspring by Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura (the first) to his brother’s son-in-law, Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel, the Or Yehoshua, of Mezhibuzh.
Rare and important letter handwritten by a scribe and signed by Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura, the second son of Aterest Tiferes Yisroel of Ruzhin, his successor in Sadigura for 32 years. The letter was written to his brother’s son-in-law, Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Mezhibuzh and to his wife the Rebbetzin, while they were sitting Shiva for one of their children who passed away young.
It is extremely rare to find letters by Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura and there are no letters he wrote to his pious friends, contemporary Admorim.
Background:
The letter was sent to Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel, the son of Rabbi Meshulam Zusha of Djinkov and great-grandson of the Rav of Apta and the Rebbetzin, daughter of the Rav of Sovaron and the Rebbetzin Mrs. Leah Rachel the daughter of Rabbi Sholom Yosef of Sadigura, for the passing of one of their children.
Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel lived in those years in Mezhibuzh. His sons, Rabbi S.Y. of Mezhibuzh and Rabbi Yitzchak Meir of Kopitshnitz, succeeded him. His book, the Or Yehoshua, was published from a manuscript by his grandson and successor the Admor of Kopitshnitz.
Please refer to Hebrew catalog text for the full text of the letter.
