Letter on charity for an important Rav, a Holocaust survivor,   by the Abir Yaakov of Sadagora with his handwritten signature.

An important letter by Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadagora to Rabbi Fischel Tchorsh of Tel Aviv with a request to help and support the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Genzler who immigrated from Romania and his family depends on him.

The letter was written during the War of Independence and the Rebbe writes:  והשם יתברך ירחם בקרוב על עמו וארצו להשיב שבותינו בארצינו על יסודי תורתנו ונזכה לראות בשוב ד’ שבו עמו לנחמם. לישועת ד’ הקרובה לבוא ישועה שלמה ואמיתית.

The letter indicates the difficult situation and the Rebbe’s attitude to the upcoming establishment of the State, which he supported yet was not "Yeshu’ah Shleima" and certainly not Yeshua’h Amitit. Most important.

Please refer to Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadagora, author of the Abir Yaakov.
