Aerogram handwritten by the holy Rav Rabbi Meshulam Zussia of Chernobyl Leviev, with blessings for the New Year – 1963/4.

The letter is addressed to the holy Rav Rabbi Sholom Yechezkel Sheraga of Tzeshinov, the relative of the Rabbi of Chernobyl and the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Rubin of Tomashov. Rabbi Sholom Yechezkel was the brother-in-law of the holy Rav of Bobov who was the son-in-law of the holy Rav of Tomashov. 

The letter contains blessings for the New Year: 

‘לשנה טובה תכתבו ותחתמו בספרן של צדיקים גמורים לאלתר לחיין לכבוד ש"ב…

הנני בזה לברך את כ"ק ומשפחתו שיחי’ בברכת השנים השי"ת יחדש עליכם שנת חיים טובים שנת ברכה והצלחה שנת גאולה וישועה, שנת קבלת תפילותינו ברחמים וברצון לפני אב הרחמים’. 

The Holy Rav Rabbi Meshulam Zussia Twersky of Chernobyl Leviev [1910-1988], the first of the Admorim of Chernobyl after the Holocaust, son after son of the Tzaddikim of Chernobyl and Leviev, the son of the daughter of the Holy Rav Rabbi Yeshaya of Tchechov, who was raised and educated by him and received much from him. Escaped before the Holocaust and immigrated by himself to Eretz Yisroel. He established his Beis Midrash first in Jerusalem and then in Bnei Berak and many gathered around him, admirers of the holy courts of Chernobyl and Sanz. Was renowned for the power of his prayer and his great modesty. His great son-in-law was the Holy Admor the Mahari of Vizhnitz.
