‘ע"י שמחה – יוצאים מכל הצרות’ (joy gets you out of trouble). Letter of blessings for good health handwritten by Rabbi Moshe of Stolin, the youngest son of the Yanuka, the Frankfurter Rabbi Yisroel of Karlin-Stolin and with his handwritten signature.
The letter was sent to his good friend, Rabbi Yehoshua Yitzchak, beginning with a blessing: ‘רפואה שלמה במהרה וכל טוב’.
Later, he thanks Hashem Yisborach for the addressee’s recovery and blesses him with constant strengthening. He informs about the health of the daughter Mrs. Tamar and blesses her too.
At the end of the letter, he notes a Mamar by his grandfather, Rabbi Asher of Stolin: ‘כי בשמחה תצאו – באמצעות השמחה אפשר לינצל מכל הצרות.
The Rav ends his letter with the words: ‘הי’ בטוב ובשלום כנפשך וכנפש ידידך הק’ ומברכו בכל הברכות ממקור הברכות ובכל טוב’ and with his full handwritten signature.
Rabbi Moshe of Stolin [1889-1942] the fourth son of the renowned Rav Rabbi Yisroel of Karlin [also known as ‘Der Frankfurter’ or the ‘Yanuka’]. Served as Admor in Stolin after the passing of his holy father and there established a large yeshiva. Many admired him and sought his advice. Was renowned for his vast knowledge of the secrets of the Torah, as well as of secular fields of knowledge. Perished in the Holocaust.
