Sefer Zara DeYosef, section I, Chidushei Halachah and Sugyot by the Gaon Rabbi Yosef ben Rabbi Eliyahu Chai Borgel, the grandson of the Gaon author of Chok Natan. Moshe Yeshuah Toviana Press, Livorno, [1849]. First edition [the year of the approbation and introduction 1850].


10, 143 leaves. 30 cm. At the beginning of the book, introductions by the author, by his brother Rabbi Nosson Borgel the Migdanot Natan and by the editor Rabbi Avraham Baruch Pipirno of Livorno. On the title page, a dedication, [4] lines, handwritten by the author: 
"מנחת עני לשם גדול הרב המופלא כמוהרב בכור מיוחס… נר"ו והיה אדירו ממני איש צעיר הוא המחבר סילט"א".


Rabbi Yosef Borgel (ca. 1790-1874), one of the important Dayanim of Tunis, a great Gaon knowledgeable in all parts of the Torah, sent many Halachic responses, author of the Sefer Zara DeYosef and Vayiken Yosef.

Original, worn semi-leather binding. Detached front board. Minor aging stains. Blemish to the spine dividing the bokk into two parts. Fair condition.
